HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!! What is it about this holiday that makes me crave chocolate first thing in the morning?? :)
Well, I decided to pass on the spin class this morning. Since it's going to be a long day, and our dinner reservations aren't until 9:30pm in NYC, I knew a good night's sleep would be more important. Sometimes I have to keep my head on straight and not overdo it just for the sake of getting all my cardio in for the week. This isn't a typical week, so I need to accept that and be happy! I did get a good weight training session in though, which obviously will help keep my metabolism up too!
Going to get a manicure later on, then driving into the city this evening! So excited!
Plus being in NYC, we always end up walking a ton, so that will feel good!

So excited to go to NYC tomorrow for Valentine's Day! This will be my first real splurge since getting back into the swing of things a few weeks ago. But I'm going to concentrate on enjoying everything in moderation and know that a couple days eating a little above normal isn't going to hurt. We have reservations at a fancy steakhouse tomorrow night, can't wait :) And I definitely need to find my way to Magnolia's Cupcakes, even if I have to wait in a line. Last time I was there the line was over a block long..crazy!
I'm going to take a spin class tomorrow at 6am and get a weights session in too.

Today was a tough one getting out of bed. 5:30 came too soon, esp. not getting to bed until 11pm. But I visualized the alternative of working out after work, and since I have to go out of town tonight, it just wouldn't work. I dragged myself there in 7 degree weather and managed to get a great circuit workout. So glad I did it :)

Got back from my trip last night and boy it was exhausting. I had to stand on my feet for 8 hours two days in a row...my feet almost fell off!
I was pretty proud of myself though sticking to my plan! I went to Trader Joe's Monday night right after work and got some healthy foods for dinner and breakfast/lunch the next day. I also grabbed extra salad fixins at the complimentary dinner buffet.
So excited though that I woke up and went to the fitness center at 6am :) Everything was in use when I got there, but I grabbed some coffee/fruit, and when i went back, voila, a treadmill was free! I went for 40 mins on the treadmill which felt great.
Off to a spin class at 5:30...yay!

So going to a superbowl party tonight! Going to enjoy some mushroom pizza and stromboli! I've been doing so good, and a splurge night always helps keep reality in check. I did my weight training circuit today at the gym too!
Going out of town tomorrow for 2 days on business. I have to wake up at 4am to be on the road by 5am, eek! But the good news is that my hotel is 2 mins away from Trader Joes :) This will be my first experience there, so I'm super excited! Plus my hotel has a full kitchen in my room so I can have a healthy dinner! Planning ahead is what makes the difference.
