Going to a spin class after work today at 5:30pm to get some cardio in. I'm doing better recording exercise here rather than in the diary. Constantly worrying over my net is no way to live that's for sure!
I'm feeling pretty tired today, ran to Dunkin Donuts for a pick me up while I finish working, but I don't like feeling so blah!

Went to the gym this morning, did my circuit workout! I love this one, the squats and lunges are killer, but strangely I enjoy working my legs the most. I'm also really feeling the abs too. I'm feeling good...and the stir fry last night was out of this world :)

So dinner last night was a success! I was super stressed for several reasons, in part b/c I'm such a perfectionist and always strive to make sure everything is just so for company. It turned out great though! I made penne ala vodka with chicken & spinach, homemade garlic bread, a house salad w/ balsamic, a spinach salad w/ strawberries, goat cheese, walnuts, & raspberry vinaigrette, along with a cheese, grape, and cracker tray. I didn't make dessert but guests brought a chocolate french silk pie & a tiramisu. The pie was sooo good, I shared w/ my boyfriend and had a few wonderful bites!
After thinking about it...I think I'm going to stop logging my exercise in the diary, b/c it's too easy for me to obsess over my calorie burn. I want this to be a lifestyle and not an obsession over how many I've burned each day. I will journal my exercise here so that I have a record of it. It's definitely nice to have the food journal, esp to know I'm getting enough protein and healthy fat each day. So...that's the plan! Oh, and today is a rest day. I did my circuit yesterday, and after the squats/lunges and a spin class, they need a little rest!

Looking forward to having family over today! I think about ten are coming, so I have a lot of prep to do. I'm going to make penne ala vodka with chicken, two different salads, and some italian bread. Getting ready to head to the gym to get a sweaty circuit workout in, then going grocery shopping..yikes! I'm feeling good though, weekends are tough to keep my calories down, but I had a great day yesterday, and I ate such a variety! I tried a recipe from Oxygen mag (my favorite one ever!) for chocolate protein muffins. I was a little iffy if they'd have any taste whatsoever. But they're awesome! Unsweetened applesauce and cocoa gives them an awesome taste, along with some protein...yum!

I had another personal training session w/ Sal this morning...it went really well. It's always nice to change things up, helps shake up my routine too.
The circuit workout she gave me:
Circuit One
Hack Squats with 5lbs each side - 15 reps
Walking lunges right side,left knee up, & 12 lb bicep curl - 12 reps
Walking lunges left side,right knee up, & 8 lb shoulder press - 12 reps
Lat pulldown 50lb bar on pulley machine - 12 reps
Abs on bosu with 6 lb ball, twists - 25 reps
Circuit Two
Stability ball w/ single chest fly on pulley machine 5 lbs - 12 reps
Pushups on stability ball - 12 lbs
Triceps pushdowns on pulley machine straight bar 35 lbs - 12 reps
Abs on bosu with 3lb dumbbell overhead - 25 reps
Our next workout is on March 15th so I'm looking forward to seeing the progression in my strength b/t now and then...I also rented a locker at the gym...woo hoo! It's the little things :) It will be nice to leave my shower things, flip flops, hairdryer, towel there so that I have less to think about the night before. Plus my gym bag won't be exploding. The worst part is that somebody kept stealing the hairdryers in the locker room. Just awful! Thankfully I had dry shampoo in my bag as a quick fix.
