So. My favorite food EVER is sushi. And I want to continue to enjoy it. However, its loaded with carbs and calories. I've tried sushi made with things other than rice (cucumber) and...well, I hated it. Any suggestions to allow me to enjoy my favorite food without blowing my diet? Thanks!!

Not sure what keto is? I'm not very familiar with diet names :) My boyfriend found out he was type 2 diabetic and has since not been able to eat any sugar and minimal carbs. I watched him drop 40+ lbs over the last year while I put on weight consistently eating breads and drinking tons of coke. I've decided to try his diet since its food we already buy for him. He says he feels better than ever before, and thats what I want for myself. 😊

You can have sushi just eat half the roll and order miso soup or a salad on the side. -Ask the waiter to give you your to-go box with your order. Package half of the sushi roll - tell the waiter to bring the to go box with your check. you can have the rest the next day or even the day after. portion control is key💕 good luck on your journey❤🌸👍🏾

This is why I won't eat Keto. I could never imagine not getting to eat the foods I love. Sushi fits very well into my eating plan, I ask for less rice with my sashimi and it works out great. Good luck to you!

Enjoy your (limited) sushi and give up the Coke. Whether diet or regular it's poison for a person wanting to get healthy. FYI: Wean off Coke, as going off "cold turkey" can give you headaches and make you darn cranky.

As others have said, portion control is key. Also, you might be able to get sushi made with brown rice, which has more fiber for the same amount of calories and carbs (so it might help you feel fuller). Also also, the sodium in soy sauce can cause you to retain water, so ask for low-sodium soy sauce or skip it.

Thank you guys! This is the most positivity I've received on this site yet. I do not do keto, as I now know what that is (I follow strict calorie limit, and burn more than I eat), but I do follow others who do keto which has led me into a group of hateful people who live to tell you your dieting wrong. I was told three times today "I'm never going to lose weight". So thanks everybody so much for the support ❤ Its very much appreciated, and a great pick me up after the hate today.

Also I made the transition from coke to diet drinks, and am slowly transitioning to water Gerdgal. I feel better already, though I know the diet is just as bad in different ways.
