Yesterday I talked to a registered dietitian/health coach, and it was very helpful. Not the sort of thing I would have done on my own, but my doctor now includes it in her concierge deal. Never thought I'd pay a doctor just to be on her list of patients, but I really wanted to stay with her so when she went this way late last year, I decided to try it for a year.
It's not like the dietitian said anything I don't already know, but she was very positive and very re-enforcing, and we came up with some improvement measures that I can see working. The best part is, she is going to call me at the same time every week to talk. I really need this weekly accounting to stick with it. I am such a people-pleaser, I won't stray because I'm also very honest and I'd end up telling her about it.
Just knowing she was going to call yesterday and she wanted a 3-day food diary, guess who ate much healthier the last 3 days?

I did not do well at the conference! Really overloaded on sweets and carbs, and did not get the opportunity to walk very much. That said, it's over and done with, so refreshing my commitment on a number of health, mental and physical, initiatives. Back to regular meditation practice, and being mindful about eating and exercising.
I always think about a WW facilitator who once told me if you stumble on a step, you don't give up and throw yourself down the stairs. You just take better care of what you're doing.

Wrong direction. Just have not been paying attention lately. Off to a conference this week, which is sometimes a food challenge, but then again a lot more walking. I'm going to try to take advantage of that part of it and get outside and walk during the breaks when I can.

Been away for a few days (mentally) but I'm back now. One thing I always find when I don't track for a few days is that my weight fluctuates drastically. I do much better when I track.

My new Fitbit Zip which I got from my workplace tells me I barely move through out the day. Yesterday was my first day wearing it and I did want to see what it looks like on a normal day. Yesterday was not exactly normal, because we were fighting major issues that kept me at my desk even through lunch, but that is becoming too much the norm these days.
So today I start trying to improve that step count and I figure as long as this number goes up and the number on the scales go down this is a good thing!
