Oh gad.. here it is going on noon and I got so busy this morning that I didn't eat breakfast, but I did get my Vita Rain in. I do plan on one though :)

I think the reasons why diets fail is that we are in the denial mentality. Today I did an experiment. I have been watching portions diligently. One of our favorite indulgences is a good steak. I've been sharing one steak dividing it into 5 oz portions. After those meals, we always wished we had more So tonight we had steak and I made one whole steak for each of us at 15 oz each. Halfway through, I was full and decided to save the other half for another meal. I had weighed my steak at the outset and then weighed the remainder. What did I end up eating? 7.4 oz! I ended up well within my RDI, enjoyed my meal and didn't feel deprived.
I think our mind is like a spoiled child.. tell it it can't have something- it craves it. Give yourself permission- it behaves :)

Today was a good day :) My daily intake allowed me to have enough available Kcals left to enjoy a piece of red velvet cake I have been keeping in the freezer :)
Some days you eat the bear and some days the bear eats you.

Blew the RDI today. I'm starting to hate weekends :/ I had a Sugar Free Double Chocolate Mocha at the Dutch Brothers today and hope it wasn't too high. I can't locate the nutritional info on the no fat milk and no sugar concoction online.
