It is so easy to get side tracked with your eating plan. I got that pound off I gained on vacation, but there are so many good things out there to eat it is hard not to abandon your meal plan and eat what you want. We are so smothered with food advertisements and food cooking shows that we forget that eating is a means of staying alive and we should eat to live and not eat for pleasure. Back in 2012, I looked in the mirror and saw that I was not only over weight, but FAT. I had been on every diet known to man, but nothing worked as good as a low carb life style. That is where I am today, happy and not FAT. Sure I have times when I over do it on carbs, but I quickly get right back on track. It is easier to lose 5 or 10 lbs then to go back to square one and hate myself for gaining all that weight back.

So I gained .8 while I was on vacation, but I am still happy that my maintenance program is going good. I knew it was going to be tough to maintain, but I realize it is tougher than I expected. I really get hungry for things that aren't on my plan and I sneak an ice cream cone every chance I get!
Golf was good yesterday, but it really got hot and humid before the day was over.

all day rain! gloomy and cool, not a very good day to take the dog out for a walk, but I did. It was just long enough for her to do her business, I put her jacket on her and made her go out, which she did under protest. We are all just laying around. Hopefully tomorrow it will be drier.
I ate the first cucumber off my plants last night and it was excellent. After the tornado we had in 2017, I have enough sunlight to plant a few veggies. I have the cukes which I am training to climb the lattice on the deck and a couple of tomato plants and I also planted summer squash. The dog is doing an excellent job of keeping the rabbits and squirrels out of them.

Hot, hot,hot! It isn't hard to break a sweat in this weather. It is also very humid. My daily walks are shorter, and I am inclined to stay in the air conditioning. My food plan is going well, but I am not losing anything. I do need to lose a couple of pounds so it wont be so hard to maintain.

I am still at goal and working at it. I have good days and bad. We just got back from vacation and it was very hard to maintain when you go out to eat a lot. One of my old classmates had a pot luck so we all could get together and I ate a little bit of everything, we all still know how to cook. It is good to be back home and back on my plan.
