My doctor threatened to give me medicine to help get my cholesterol down. I said no. He gave me a simple list of what to eat, what to eat sparingly and things to avoid. Now of course I know all those, but somehow coming from him and an immediate health reason made it sink in. Ice cream and chocolate are in the avoid column and I have not had any of the first, very little of the 2nd whereas before I was eating those every day and not just one serving or piece. I've upped my fruits, veggies and grains, stayed away from fattening sauces and mostly only had lean meats. Just approximately following has caused this weight loss in only a couple of weeks. I am thinking of what to eat to get my cholesterol down instead of trying to make myself diet and "be good." Apparently that's the hook I needed. I feel good again already, I sleep better and I'm very excited to have more energy. Oh, and we have a dog at our house now so I take him for a walk most days. Progress! :)
