I cant believe Im getting ready to start back on this diet. Honestly Im not sure how I went off it in the first place. I followed this diet a while back when I only needed to lose about 5 lbs. Needless to say it worked GREAT - I lost the weight in a few days and loved the recipes so much I stayed with it.

For the most part I have always been a pretty healthy eater so it really wasnt a big deal. Then I finished my Masters degree, went to my 20 yr. reunion, quit smoking and apparently celebrated my success in those areas a little too much with major amounts of junk food because now I have about 20 - 25 lbs to lose!

Twenty-five lbs may not seem like much to lose but for me its a personal nightmare. I weigh more than I ever have in my life and I put all of the extra weight on in less than 4 months. Im really feeling out of sorts now and I just have no energy or inclination to do anything about it. I knew I was gaining weight but just ignored it and now Im really in a mess. Hopefully my habits arent so bad that I cant get back to the good ones I used to live by.

I just hope I can not only get motivated - but stay motivated!

What matters is how you feel in your own skin. Some people need to lose 60lbs others need 5 it all depends on you and what you need, I wish I was down to only needing 25 to go!lol but ill get there Good luck

How tall are you? I hope you don't mind my asking. I have my goal weight set at 130 & I am 5 feet 1 inch & I'm wondering if once I hit that goal if I should turn around & start with a new goal weight that is much lower.

Anicolet - Thanks so much for the support - Im more out of shape than overweight so it really is a matter of how I feel in my own skin and getting off my rear and back into shape so that I am comfortable in my own body. Most people dont understand that so your post is really appreciated. Thanks for understanding! LittleMamaMickey - Im 5'5" but dont make any decisions based on my goals. You have to take several things into consideration when setting goals such as body type, fitness level, lifestyle and activity level. For me my goal is just a guestimate of how much fat weight I have to lose - not my actual final weight. Once I lose the fat and add the muscle back on - I will probably weigh a whole 5 - 10lbs less than I do now. The real difference will be in my measurements and % body fat. Rather than focusing on weight once you reach your goal of 130 - you may find it more rewarding to focus on your measurements, how your clothes fit and how you feel about yourself. You should also talk to your doctor to determine what is healthy for you. Look at things like measurements and % body fat rather than weight alone.
