My hubby and I spend almost every summer weekend at the beach with our kids, our friends, and their kids.
Anyway walking off the beach on September 5th, after a glass of wine or two, I could not move, and I could not breathe. A friend with me offered to take my bag and chair so I could walk up the dune. That was when I said no more! I made a promise to myself that by next summer I was not going to be embarassed and seriously near a heart attack. With beach season over, I knew I would have plenty of time to get to any goal I set!
My 11 year old daughter sets her alarm each morning to make sure I get up to exercise. Yesterday she said to me, Mommy, I do not know what I would do without you. (Thank goodness she still thinks I am a genuis) But when she really thought about it and then I really thought about it we both became a little fearful. She is my strength, without her I could not have done this. I almost half-way there, my blood pressure medication has been cut in half and I know I will keep going I have to do this for myself but for her, I need to be here for a long, long time.
