I used to do it daily, and started back this week. It seems to really make a difference for me. I only eat between 11am-6pm, I feel okay working out any time

When I was young I found that if I did not eat after supper I was not hungry in the morning. Little did I know that I was doing what they call intermittent fasting. My body loves this! For me it is an appetite suppressant and the way I start whenever I want to lose weight. Is it good for us? Yesterday someone posted about a person called Valter Longo and off I was listening to a one hour interview with him and he is against it. He thinks that we should not go any longer than 12 hours. According to him people who do intermittent fasting would have a shorter life span. There is controversy in everything that we read.

Improves insulin sensitivity, hunger control, and allows you to eat what you want in your window.

The bodies not set up to starve..eat...starve..eat,
YA it's ok to shock your
metabolism once in a great will but you should have a plan after that.another problem is people get addicted to doing it for
longer time's...it happens
all the time, even on this site
you can see examples of
this and before you know
You've become a Mary
Carpenter. Personally for
that one pd more.

I intermittent fast every day. Have done for at least 6 months. I eat between 12-8. Love it. I exercise before or after my lunch. Makes no difference if I eat before or after lunch.

Mary Carpenter had anorexia nervosa which is a severe eating disorder which is responsible for the death of countless people every year and has no relationship what so ever to intermittent fasting. It is only in the last 50 years that humans decided they needed to eat throughout the day. Before that our ancestors led active lives and ate far less. Before electricity was in every home. People ate their last meal in the afternoon and did not eat again till the next morning. Modern eating habits have made us obese. In my opinion and based on an enormous amount of research eating within an 8 hour window and allowing your body to digest and burn off that food is a perfectly healthy way of living. I suggest you do as much research as possible and determine if intermittent fasting is for you rather than listing to any of us.

2426, two points if you followed her career she ate
normally, then as they got
famous according to her
brother she became self conscious about her weight
so she started skipping meals and one thing led to another..fasting longer and
longer until she became a full scale anorexic'..she'd look in mirror and step on
the and each time she wasn't
thin enough. That's the problem with human nature,
we always more and more quick fixes.Remember this old but true saying..No one
start's out to be a junkie!
2nd. you said our ancestors
would have their last meal in early afternoon..Key Word...
They Ate!

Melkiah, I'm surprised at you
making a statement like that
about there's no starvation
mode! Our flesh and blood bodies are cannibalistic if it doesn't receive food from an outside source it turns within to get the protein it needs to survive. You might not feel hungry at first but l guarantee you it's finding flesh to eat.

She had anorexia nervosa. It is a serious medical condition in no way related to Intermittent Fasting what so ever. It's like saying a person who has a glass of wine with dinner is an alcoholic. It is comparing apples and oranges.

2426girl, This site is five days old and you got on your high horse again for another ride around.Nice play of words with anorexic's and alcoholics. l'm assuming you have common sense..Again Look your not born one you become one, the same goes with becoming obese...Ok
Your body stores extra fuel in your muscles and liver in the form of glucose which will sustain your body for the first few hrs.Once depleted your body needs to break down fat and muscle to create glucose that your brain needs for fuel, the main components of body fat called fatty acids can't be turned into glucose. So fasting slows down your metabolism and once you start eating normally again you will retain weight gain in the form of Fat."" Starvation Mode""..we see this all the time on this site, a weight gain after all that fasting.l call it fat gain.So intermittent fasting muscle loss is proven from "" studies"" to be around 25% muscle loss.
Yes we do have signs of Anorexic's on this site, they just haven't reached that point yet!
Your not born an Anorexic,Alcoholic or a Junkie..you become it!

No such thing as starvation mode. The body will use some muscle but it’s not as drastic as you make it seem.
