Lovely rainy payday Friday! Day job payday and side job payday! Woo Hoo!
Okay so I'm not really all that excited about an 80% chance of rain but the weekend is supposed to be nice, I've had 2 GORGEOUS days of sunshine, my stepdaughter called tomtell,her dad she was hired for a full time job, AND DH learned tonigh is his last night of working nights! So this is a happy Friday!
No great loss this week but the scale did reflect a loyals dip this morning as well! Quite welcome. I loved what Sharon posted yesterday from one of her Facebook friends.
I am not fat. I have fat. I am not fingernails. I have fingernails.
It may be a new mantra for me!
I also had a visit yesterday with a family I work with that warmed my heart so much I couldn't stop smiling all day long. In fact I'm still smiling. Can't really say more than that due to confidentiality but it was so lovely and reminded me that what I do does make a difference and I feel so privileged to have had the opportunity to share in their life.
So despite being busier than a one-armed paper hanger I'm feeling downright giddy!
I also must say Bella's journal yesterday really struck a chord with me as well. 5 years ago a former buddy (he's no longer here) shared with me the concept that that joy is in the journey not the destination. It is still a concept I'm struggling with to embrace, not only in regards to my weight but really in all aspects of my life. I've always said life is process not product. Same general thought. It's a lifelong lesson for me. Not being caught up in "arriving" or in "achieving" but in being.
My weight goes up and down. My health may be strong or weak. My experiences of giddiness or happiness flux. Regardless,the johns in my journey, not in it's final destination, each wonderful, terrible moment.
So with that I shall launch into this day. Warm the chill off the house, move my body, smile through it, and remember what is important. I have amazing friends, here on fatsecret, on Facebook, and all around me. I have opportunities every single day to choose my focus,to embrace life,to be grateful.
