Over the last month I've lost around 3kg, it does not feel like much but it is progress. The last few days I've bounced up a bit, mainly due to stress-related eating of unhealthy things on Thursday after a particularly horrendous day at work.

What I haven't mentioned here before is that since last October I had been trying to eat more sensibly and exercise more. Neither easy due to hunger and carrying far too much weight to start. Still I have been avoiding processed foods, eating sensible lower calorie food at home, trying to pick the sensible food at work and also trying to walk at least 10,000 steps each day.

I manage there have also been setback. Most of these are knee-related. It has given way unexpectedly twice in the last few months, each time leaving me in pain with difficulty walking at all. Still, I do what I can to push through that. Today I went for a long walk around the local nature reserve which meant I had done my 10,000 steps by 11am. Overall I need more days like this, and fewer like Thursday.
