So, eating is nice...
Weekly 36-hour fast number 13 complete. This one was actually 48 hours, my longest so far — a little extra push to end the holidays and kick off a hopeful and healthful new year.
I started it a day early, mistaking Friday for Saturday because of the holiday and because time as we once knew it seems to no longer exist, in this pandemic.
Anyway, I'm happy to be back on track after Christmas. Given that I've set a pound a week as a loose minimum weight-loss goal, and two weeks ago after my previous fast (I skipped one in between) I weighed 1.8 lb more than I do now, I can say that I limited my holiday weight gain to 0.2 lb. I'll take it!

Funny, but as yesterday was a holiday, I mistook it for Saturday, and started preparing for a full fasting day on "Sunday" (today, which is actually Saturday of course), and I cut off my eating earlier in the day than usual to give myself a little extra push, given the weight I had put on over the holidays, and given that I had skipped my fast on the previous Sunday.
So here I am now, entering a full fasting day a day early, and already down a few pounds since yesterday (presumably mostly water weight and glycogen). Not a bad start to the new year.
Maybe if I could always convince myself that it was a day later than the actual date, I could also trick myself into never procrastinating...

New year, renewed resolve.
It's always been in you to succeed at this and many other things. You know what works for you, or you know how to find it. And it's in you to remember this at any time, not just with your mind, but with your body, your actions. And not in the sense of "Been there, done that, and could do it again, if only", but in the sense of "I am" and "I do".
For me today and tomorrow are a low-cal day followed by a fasting day. Moving forward, with gratitude.

The FS weight entry box is always auto-filled when you go to weigh in, and on the website version it seems to round to the whole number closest to your last weigh-in, which means that it's often a couple of tenths of a pound higher than your last entry, which has the effect of suggesting that you've gained weight before you even enter anything.
Sometimes it's right, but I still get a little offended by the suggestion...
