Doc today...I have a virus. BOO!! My labs are where they should be, but my BP is borderline. So back on the meds, but I'm cutting my BP pills in half. Doc thinks we may have tried too quick so will revisit again in 5 months. I went on to work and was freezing all day. (Ate my lunch...hot steamy chili...in the direct sun wearing a black hooded sweater over a black hoody to try and warm up) So I left work early, came home and crawled in bed. Finally got warm but now my head and muscles hurt from clenching when I was freezing-that and the after effects from my Sunday workout. Ibuprophen not working Went out to get some GF chicken noodle soup. Review on gluten free cafe good, but I wasn't crazy about it and it didn't give me that 'comfort food, feel better' feeling. Good thing I got some Amy's GF Mac n cheese! That did it. ;-)

Feeling lousy and want to go back to sleep, but can't fall asleep. Watching Dharma and Greg on TV Guide channel-still one of the best shows ever! Plus the Bengals are on tonight...kickoff at 7! I hope we have a better season this year.

Sorry this is so long and detailed. I guess I just want to whine a little.

I don't get it. I just don't get it. Was hoarse last night from cheering on the marching band. Very cold when I got home and took a HOT shower for 10-15 minutes, still cold when I got out. Finally felt flush in the face and my ears. Then had a REALLY bad night of sleep. Woke up 4x to pee (that's all I've been doing today-at least every hour, sometimes more) freezing to death each time I got out of the bed...like shaking and teeth chattering kind of cold. Crawled in bed, pulling covers up, but shoulders were sore this a.m. from holding tight against being cold I guess. It only got down to the upper 50s.

So then I finally wake up, drink coffee, eat breakfast and go workout. Had a REALLY good workout. Sweated my ass off, heart rate was up, had stamina to get through but noticed my throat was getting sore and a 'rumbling' in my chest like a cold. Came home, showered and started feeling sluggish. Went by mom's to fix something, ran errands, got/ate a snack bag of GF pretzels cause I was hungry while out, came home and could barely move around. Exhausted!! So freakin' tired. Put a load of laundry on and laid down for a nap. Got about 45 minutes, but my breathing was labored the whole time, so still tired. Vacuumed and cleaned other floors, switched laundry out, and feel like I need another nap. I still have to make hamburger patties to freeze and cook a couple tonight.

I guess I am sick...damn it! Just used my neti pot to clear out my sinuses, but stuff still lurking in there, I can feel it. Luckily, I do have a doc appt at 7:30 tomorrow morning to check up on my blood pressure after being off the meds a month now. Gonna ask bout feeling flush, sick, and possibly a water pill (my BP med had it with it). Plan on going to bed early, cause I need it. Hope my neighbor doesn't mind, she was wanting to sit on the porch and drink wine for a bit. Well...maybe I'll have a glass, then go to bed.

Fine. I will record my heavier weight. UGH! Though it is 2 lbs lighter than 2 days ago. Gonna talk to my trainer today about what I can do on my 'off' days from Swing This to help me get towards being able to participate in the competition at the end of October. We are going to have our own competition since nobody wants to travel for the one in November. This should help me get more exercise and focus on cleaner eating to drop some more weight and inches.

Yesterday was nephew N's band competition. They did so good! They really should have placed better than 4th. Sometimes we really wonder what the judges are judging. But...I am also proud of myself! It hit me right before I left that I wouldn't be able to eat anything they sell at the concession stands and that I would be there all day. They had nachos with canned, processed cheese, pizza, hot dogs, funnel cakes, etc. There was a booth with 'home baked goods' and candy, a snow cone booth...you get the picture. I brought GF pretzels, grapes, celery, 2 GF coconut macadamia nut butter snacks, 2 bottles of water, and a chocolate almond drink. YAY! Now...they were grilling some stuff too like burgers, cheese steak sandwiches, I think corned beef and something else. I got a burger...NO bun...with grilled onions, peppers, sauerkraut and mustard and ate it with a fork. So I did very well...other than sitting for most of the day and getting a slight sunburn on my left arm and left side of my face. HAHA!

Today I workout in about an hour. Then I'll come home, shower, vacuum, do laundry, make hamburger to freeze (and a few to cook for this week), get my salad ready and maybe make GF cookies with the mix I got in the mail a few weeks ago. I also have to get kitty food and litter, so that means I have to go out. BAAAH! I just want to relax. Then back to work tomorrow.

Hope everybody has a restful Sunday and will be ready for the week ahead and remember... "A river cuts through a rock, not because of its power but its persistence."

Made my chili tonight..yum! Used a red, green and yellow pepper, an onion, 2 lb grass-fed ground beef, a can of dark red kidney beans, 3 small gala apples, raw cocoa powder and various spices (chili powder, hungarian paprika, smoked paprika, red cayenne pepper, cumin, oregano, coriander, cinnamon, garlic powder, onion powder, fresh ground black pepper...I think that's all). Did I say YUM yet? Sweet, smokey, just enough heat/spice...delicious! I'll probably never be able to make it again cause I didn't measure the spices, just judged it by what I wanted.

I also picked up some specialty cheeses so I could make some 'gourmet' gluten-free mac-n-cheese for myself. And then I have the standard salad stuff and my burger stuff. That will get me through this week's meals. I got eggs and bacon too. May try to do a Sunday breakfast this weekend...after my workout of course.

Smelled Gold Star chili in the lunchroom and the craving set in. I wanted pasta with cincinnati-style chili. So I had it. I bought a can of Dixie chili and used the GF pasta I got in my mail package and threw some shredded cheddar on it. It wasn't as good as I was hoping. I think it was the pasta...I like my quinoa/corn pasta better. Anyway, I ate way too much of it. Oh, and I bought some chips at the store when I got the chili cause I was so hungry. I know better, but I gave in.

I need to record it all in my food journal, but it's kinda embarrassing how much I ate so I don't' want to list it. I am stuffed. I am also tired. Picked up anther gluten book at the library and a new trashy novel, so I may go to bed and read. Forget about my bad eating tonight and start new tomorrow morning.

Whole Foods has their grass-fed ground beef on sale tomorrow. I plan on getting some to make chili and some yummy burgers again this week. I should do a veggie/bean salad also. Black beans or chick peas. Oh! I forgot to do roasted chick peas...damn! Hopefully I will get to it this weekend.

My nephew, N, has his marching band competitions starting this Saturday. I'm actually watching the gym for a couple hours Saturday morning before I can go to the competition...it's an all day affair on Saturday...which means grocery tomorrow after work and cleaning and laundry on Sunday after workout. Back to squeezing my stuff into one day. There are only a few competitions close to home this year, so not every weekend will be taken up by this.

I'm off to read in bed and fall right to sleep. I need a good night of sleep.
