Had my physical on Saturday, & it was not good... I've been overweight my whole life, but I've never had a bad physical... This is now serious.

Here I go again... I'm going to be 40 in 10 months, and I really want to win this battle of the bulge, for good! I've been up and down, down and up, and I need to get this under control. My mother passed away at 59, due to diabetes related issues. Now, my physically fit 76 yr old father was just diagnosed with it, too. I'm seriously pre-disposed to the disease, so tackling this weigh loss is not a casual thing, anymore. I'm developing back and ankle issues, and this is not something I'm used to. Though I've been heavy for just about all of my life, my body has never sent me signs that it was not happy with the extra luggage I've been carrying around. Keep me encouraged, FatSecret!

I've learned that my body needs real food... I'll limit myself to just one Atkins bar/shake per day. Love seeing the scale go down again! :-)

For me, writing down what I eat helps, but planning my meals works even better! I always thought that planning meals would be stressful, but it actually takes the stress out of staying on track. Sooo happy I gave it a try! :-)
