Okay, here goes... I'm not going to diet, I'm not going to exercise. I am going to track what the hell I'm doing. I'm not going to make big changes. One small step at a time.

First step: Add fruits or vegetables to every meal.

That is so awesome.. that is exactly what I started last January and it has worked for me. I started by trying to eat 5 servings of fruit/vegetables every day.. swapping brown rice for white.. giving up pop as my everyday beverage.. eating healthier pasta.. lowering fat on dairy products and so on.. and over the last 15 months i have made those changes plus others and I have lost nearly 50 lbs. I decided that I was not worried about losing it fast.. I would be happy with losing it forever, and I feel that the only way I can do that is with life changes. I read somewhere else the phrase "persistence not perfection" and I have really taken that to heart.. so good luck to you. Your efforts will be rewarded.
