I'm just feeling extremely hungry these last few days so I've been fighting hard to stay within RDI (and succeeding). I have to feel positive and excited about that success and I think I deserve a pat on the back. I'm sure it's all down to ToM - not only do I feel bloated and heavy but also hungry. I'm a little constipated despite the daily herbal tea with senna so I've drunk a second one today in the hope it will clear my system (!) tonight or in the morning.

A week finished at work - the first week after the holiday. It went quite well although my shoulders are aching from being constantly tensed against the cold this week. My home is lovely and warm, thank goodness, but the school really struggles to warm up in these conditions. We've had snow again over the past couple of days but it's due to warm up a bit after the weekend.

I came home with two bags full of holiday homework to mark over the weekend, so I'm going to get on with some of that now - try to get it out of the way so that Sunday is clear for some fun with the family.

I have had a cough for over a week now - no sore throat or tickle, but some tightness in my chest. I'm loathe to go to a doctor as I don't think cough medicines help much and I don't want to be given antibiotics. I'm drinking linden tea which I infuse from whole dried leaves and flowers - if anyone reading this has other natural remedies I'd be glad to know of them.

I'm looking forward to the weekend at home - keeping warm and not having to go out at all (although if it's sunny I'll wrap up and go out for a couple of long walks).

Oh, you DEFINITELY deserve a pat on the back. Sometimes it can be tricky doing this, we feel hungry, we feel that we're not doing right, we feel that things go slow, and YET we still keep pushing. This is when we see results, just like you do! Well done, my friend.

AND I have a big bag (shopping bag) of assorted chocolates in my kitchen to take to my colleagues at work from my holiday - they've been waiting for one lady who's been away on a school trip - and I didn't dip into them!!!!

Oooooh... that's quite a challenge. On good days I could manage, on bad days my RDI would definitely take a hit. LOL.

So weird that you have a cold...I've been a bit down with one myself for just over a week (I told you we could be related,lol). I was wondering for a day or so whether I might have strep throat, but I seem to have turned the corner, and feel quite a bit better now. You asked about home remedies. Try hot tea (just regular tea) with lots of honey and lemon. Another is, gargling with very warm, almost hot, strong salt water... As for the chocolate and the hunger, I'm confident these are related to your ToM, just as you said. I'm past that, but I do recall times like that, and sometimes didn't recognize it until I gave it a bit of thought. I wonder what the science is behind all that...hmmmm... So, Miss "Earthygirl", big pat on the back from me you're getting! Well done! And the scales tell the tale! Woohoo!
