Being set up for failure.
My job, in its efforts to bring up moral in our final days at this site before our ultimate layoff in 30 days, that it would be nice to feed us. today they served: bacon potatoes sausage and French toast with all the fixens. i am a food addicted and all though i did attempt to resist the temptation, it proved to be more powerful with the aroma of bacon wafting through the vents making its way to my desk and being inhaled for 2 hrs prior to being invited to; "Please come enjoy with us a catered breakfast with your Management team". so rather than eating my already prepaid, and rather enjoyable lunch my love packed me, consisting of: Turkey sandwich on wheat with low fat mayo and Romaine lettuce Pumpkin seeds Grapes diet soda jello and an apple my willpower took a direct hit and when faced with the option of sitting it out or rushing to the break room to snag a plate while there was still food left to be had, I choice the latter. (Obviously or I wouldn’t be writing this now)
however in my own defense, I did try to not over due it too much. on my plate you would have found (prior to me devouring it) 3 slices of bacon 1 sausage patty 2 small slices of French toast ( kind of in the French toast stick form) w/ syrup And all though I did take potatoes I didn’t eat them. I did NOT add salt to the potatoes (even though I didn’t eat them anyway I’m going to take that as a PLUS because normally salt is my favorite condiment!) I did NOT add butter to my French toast but I did DIP it in the syrup. But not smother it in syrup! I might not feel so guiltily about it if I hadn’t already declined to work-out this morning. So this makes 2 bad choices so far today! Moral of the story, 1. My job is out to get me 2. I still need to work on my willpower 3. When faced with bad choices I may give in but I did not OVER DO IT! 4. There is always tomorrow to do better!
Best advice to myself, better luck next time! On a side note, having real bacon instead of the bacon substitute I have been trying to fool myself with lately WAS SO WORTH IT, well it was worth HALF of the calories anyway.
