I know I way over did it on the protein....probably won't eat much tomorrow at all though....half the time I only eat cuz I have to so medications don't mess with my stomach... got too much to do tomorrow, after being called in to work today, to take time out to eat...at least that's the plan in my head at the moment

@ Emmy.... I've been being told that too much protein will turn into "sugars" so I guess really...no it's not a good thing. I used a "keto" calculator to figure out how much of everything I should have, and I almost doubled it last night.

@Camelshavefeelings2.... I cannot read the rest of your comment. The last thing I see is "there is no protein in baked bread..." or was that the end of the comment? seems unfinished

TCM if you see three ... at the end of the post there, click on them and it will reveal the rest of the post. FS does that to make speedier scrolling and reducing the space taken up by long comments.

LOL are you saying proteind grams don't really matter then? It's early for me to wrap my head around all that you said...even if i did understand what you are getting at...I think.... lol

Camels....can you show any papers, studies or articles to back up that assertion?

My dad's doctor put him on a protein restricted diet because he's having kidney issues.
23 Jun 16 oleh anggota: 1point21gigawatts
Why would my dad's doctor recommend a low protein diet if there are no dietary proteins?
23 Jun 16 oleh anggota: 1point21gigawatts
No, I'm not taking it as a confrontational thing, my dad's health is too important, I'm just trying to figure out what he DOES need to do to address the issues. The doctor says his kidney function isn't where it should be and that excess protein is making his kidneys work harder than they should, he's put him on a diet that limits protein; beef, chicken, pork, etc. What you're saying is that limiting protein doesn't matter because there is no such thing. I'm merely looking for clarification. Is it like scurvy (I say you address that topic with another member), he should focus on other issues?

Too few carbs?? What is that?? LOL Carbs are nonessential. Meaning that they are the only macro that we can live without. Ahhhh... yes, the scurvy from lack if vitamin C myth. I see another unicorn! LOL As far as protein, after you remove all of the carbs, protein will regulate itself over time. If you are getting confused from everyone's points of views, I suggest that you do a little research and trial and error for yourself, buddy.

@phil my mom went through kidney disease. Watch standard proteins magnesium and potassium. All his doctor what limits are good to keep. @@ camel, so would you agree that often animal products produce the correct amino acid sequences when eaten to bind with AAs from other foods that cause many people to build their own proteins? This would explain why some seem to have success eating animal products in muscle building and weight loss and why others do better on diets that are mostlyvegetable and grain based?bdiets.

I could have too, Panigale, before I cut the carbs and stating using butter as my A1 sauce...lol.

@OLIVER... so you're saying that you don't think we need protein AT ALL, EVER?
23 Jun 16 oleh anggota: Caterpillar2Butterfly
Hmmmm... interesting! Well, if protien is nonessential and carbs are nonessential. I guess that only leaves fat as being essential. Could you point me to the research place. I find that very interesting!

I personally like Dr. Rosedale's take on research. http://www.meandmydiabetes.com/2010/05/07/ron-rosedale-protein-the-good-the-bad-and-the-ugly/

Good Morning TandJ.... I just finished reading caterpillars journal comments. Basically, what I took away from it is this.... We still have to make healthier choices in what we we...no processed, junk added crap...excess carbs are still a big NONO and our bodies will use what it needs to survive, but will get rid of the rest or, because it cannot figure out what to do with it, it sticks to our bodies in unhealthy ways to make us fat. I actually get what you are saying about the proteins...which shocks me really, as I am not as smart as some. So, with that, if I eat two steaks, without a potato or bread, and watch what veggies or fruits I do eat, then I will be good to go and will lose weight and survive my obesity? That's good to know! I like my meats...tasty they are...
