Pretty good result today too. Way under 100 net carbs and with dinner done, still enough calories to my 1450 cap to have an orange or some berries before bed. Tomorrow will be more challenging... eating brunch out with family and planning on spaghetti dinner tomorrow night at home. Well it's not exactly spaghetti because the only pasta I eat is 100% buckwheat soba noodles, but it's pretty close. But my serving of pasta will suck up a lot of carbs, so I'll need to be very careful the rest of the day. Brunch is easy though -- I'll have egg whites scrambled with spinach, a green salad, and some melon or strawberries. If I can remember to do so, I'll bring my own buckwheat crispbread with me so I have something crunchy. I don't know why it took me so long to figure out I could ask for a green salad with eggs, but it did. And then I decided to make a big batch of tuna salad tomorrow so if I get hungry during the afternoon, I'm eating protein not carbs. we'll see how this works out. I fear my journal is going to be very boring for the next several weeks while I get this under control...
P.S. I went to the ice skate store today to investigate buying skates. As I expected, it's going to be a) expensive and b) an extended project. My feet are two completely different sizes, but both have extra-long toes and a long vamp -- the length from toe to arch. With shoes, I fit the larger foot and then either choose a tie shoe that can be tied tight on the small foot or put all kinds of fillers into the smaller shoe. But you can't do that with ice skates. They have to fit. So I have to have two different sized boots, which could require two different sized blades. This may or may not constitute a custom order -- the store owner is going to check with the mfg in Minneapolis. It's possible that because the company still makes some styles in the U.S., that they would make me a pair with a left size 9 1/2 and a right size 8 1/2, for less that it costs to actually have custom-made skates, since the actual boot will be standardized -- it's just that my pair will have two different sizes. By the time I get done, I think I might have to have some kind of an alarm attached to them because if I lost them I'd be hysterical!
