Hii FS, honestly having a really bad day today. Got the results back my tests and I nearly 100% on all of them! So I mean that is one good thing, I am just not sure what to do about my weight loss. I know everyone is telling me to eat more calories but I am really struggling. Has anyone got any tips on how to eat more calories without feeling guilty etc?

HOLY CRAP! Wtg on the test results. That's awesome. The thing with weight is it likes to stick around when we're stressed. It could be that you're stressing it too much. I was brought up in the "low fat" era. When I switched to Keto, my mind and my body were at odds. It took a lot of struggling to allow myself to eat the good fats. Mind over matter really is a tough struggle. Try adding some protein to each meal. A hard boiled egg, or a slice or two of cheese, even a spoonful of peanut butter. Small steps. You can do it. ❤️

Congratulations on your outstanding test scores! You must be very dedicated and focused in your academic studies!! As for calories, I am not sure if there is any way other than through (if you will). I would maybe take a look at your thoughts and feelings surrounding food and eating. Maybe keep a private journal? You can look at an online calculator that aims to provide you with a number of calories to consume, but I wonder if the issue is really a lack of knowledge? I think you are smart... so I doubt this is the problem. Either way, yay you on great scores!

add protein and get daily amount of fiber. I do that and it keeps me feeling full and satisfied

You are still growing. You need protein at every meal for healthy bones and muscles and fat for healthy hormones and brain/nerves. Look up protein for weight loss on YouTube. There's lots to learn there.

Peanut Butter. Spoonful's. I cannot resist. Find the one thing you absolutely love the most that is healthy - and keep it in your most common areas. Grats btw. Im struggling with the opposite. My maintenance caloric intake is a measly 1600. Soooo easy to go over that in a day :( I wish you luck!

Hi Christina. Congratulations on your test scores! Have you sought help for how you feel about food? When you aren’t eating enough because of feeling guilty then the issue really isn’t nutrition. I would assume that you already know that given your intelligence. It seems like you are trying to find happiness with weight loss but the happiness needs to come first right? Sorry for the lecture not the intent. I hope you find the path that you deserve.

Maybe a change in how you view food consumption? If you have a test coming up, you study the material that you are being tested on. If you want your brain to retain and recall the information you need to fuel your body. Really no different than planning to go shopping. If there is no gas and oil in the car, you can't go. Eating is caring for your body. Those of us who are overweight struggle to change from "living to eat to eating to live". You have been thinking that all eating is gluttony. That thought pattern may actually be doing as much harm to your body as actually over eating. I know it's not as simple as flipping a switch. You have taught yourself to believe in your ability to recall for testing. This is kind of the same thing. Having an actual out loud conversation with yourself, several times a day may improve how you view food. It is Brain and Body care and maintainance. It is really OK to talk to yourself! Lol.. You're doing amazing academically! You will learn to be kinder to yourself!

Meat, cheese, eggs the size of your palm, three times a day, then fill up on veggies and a little fruit. You will be both well nourished and losing weight. Real food really matters. Skip anything that's been processed in a factory.
