More and more rain and storms today, so another day of no walking. Tomorrow, I have an earlier AM commitment, so there may be no walking then either.

I'm struggling with attitude today. These storms and heavy rains darken our house and make it gloomy, even with lights on. This is way too reminiscent of when we first moved here when it put me in a decided funk for a few months.

If I had gotten out of bed just a bit earlier, I could have had the dogs out just before all this rain. But now......well, let's just say I'm waiting for any sign of let-up and, according to the radar, that could be a while! I'm not looking forward to getting all dressed in rain gear and having to get the dogs out. I have to get stern with them (they don't want to get wet any more than I do) and then try to dry them off as best I can when they come back in. It always seems to be a battle in the rain.

It's an absolute downpour right now, so we're just waiting, but we can't wait for hours.

Meantime....I'm hungry! And, I suspect the dogs are, as well.


ADDED LATER: Rain has stopped but it's still cloudy and more rain is expected. Dogs finally got out but Nervous Nellie can't eat - even now when it's calm. Poor little gal.

Stairmaster notes...30 min. of random program, level 2; 170 cal burned per SM but 338 per HRM; straight arm support on hills, HR in low 120's at end.

ADDED LATER: Snarfed down nearly half a jar of almond butter. I've recorded a good amount of it on the food diary but I know I've had even more, unmeasured, so I'm just declaring it here and putting the asterisk by today's food ("some" not "all"). I'm sure it's due to mood but I've got to get over the want for a quick, food fix to try to make me feel better. It doesn't work and so I just keep shovelling more in, a spoonful here, then a spoonful there, hoping it will. Eventually, I feel so full, I stop, but that's after way too much - too many carbs and a whole heap of calories! Then, I'm faced with a choice to finish up the day with appropriate foods and amounts, knowing it will push calories over the top, OR try to cut back to make up for the almond butter, knowing that I'm missing appropriate nutrition.

Keep your chin up! I'm sure the weather will ease up soon...and even with the minor setback you are doing phenomenal!!!! So close, you are my inspiration that this really can work long term. Think sunshiny thoughts! Jen

Thanks Jen. The weather today is much nicer with sunshiney skies. Early AM appointment precluded walking the dogs (or me!) but it's OK if today turns into a day off for me. Got some shopping done after that appointment and scored some great deals! Tonight is a birthday dinner out at either a seafood restaurant or TGIFriday's if there's too long a wait at the seafood place (they tried to get a reservation but apparently the restaurant isn't taking them for tonight). Have a good weekend.
