I'm struggling with getting enough protein. I can't have peanut butter or fish or seafood in the house because my grandma is severely allergic and she has dementia and she will just eat whatever. Peanut butter and fish and canned tuna used to be my go to for protein but now I'm clueless. There's only so many ways u can make chicken that is healthy and the same for beef and pork. Add in the fact that we r low income and can't afford to buy some stuff. I need ideas. Also hints on how to settle nausea because sometimes the only thing I can eat is cereal. Hot food messes me up for some reason.

Do you like eggs? That was my go to for the longest time. Used to hard boil six for the week so they were ready to go.

There are tons of protein sources outside of what you listed. Greek yogurt, vegetable protein, protein powders, egg whites. You mentioned not having many healthy ways to cook meats, but there are tons of simple ones online. Seasonings can do a lot! Maybe spend some time looking up clean recipes. They won’t have extra calories but lots of flavor. Good luck!

There are a number of grains that provide complete proteins, like farro and quinoa. Google it.

I had forgotten vegetable protein sources. Thanks for the reminder.

I eat a lot of egg whites. I put beans in my salads. Seeds and nuts.

I found a Turkey sausage that put in a pan with egg/veggie muffins which were delicious.

Beans and lentils, if she can tolerate those. They have the added advantage of being cheap. Tofu is good. I make seitan, which doesn't cost much to make -- as long as there are no issues with gluten or nutritional yeast. It's incredibly high in protein, and a go-to food for me. I know how difficult food allergies can be -- my brother has life threatening allergies to certain foods

Put a lock on a cabinet or even a box in the pantry to store your peanut butter, canned tuna, etc.

Protein powders work well. Premiere has 30g per two scoops. I use AthlenX's Pro30G sugar free version.

Eggs and beans are always good. I agree with ClaireBear1082 about the Turkey sausage.

Peanut butter is not a protein, it falls under a fat. I eat it daily but count it as a fat and measure it. My go to proteins foods that are high protein is any meat ground turkey, ground chicken, chicken breast, steak, 93/7 ground beef, chicken bacon, tuna, salmon, pork, beef jerky and liver. Other protein sources, eggs (high fat but good for a complete protein too). Other sources high in protein 0% Fage yogurt, cottage cheese, chia seeds (protein, high fiber and good fats), protein powder (KOS organic plant protein and vital proteins collagen peptides.

You can get some protein from beans and veggies but they are not as high

Canned chicken breast is also good although can have a lot of sodium if you don’t rinse it. There are also lentil based pastas that have a lot of protein and fiber.

There are some great YouTube videos on how to eat healthy for low income. Takes planning, but can be done.

My hubby has a sensitive stomach and finds that protein shakes are the easiest on his stomach when it is upset to make his macros. We like Vega best but there are definitely cheaper options.

one boiled egg with breakfast is great. having oats for breakfast is also great, or grain cereals that have good protein (I like nature's path, you can see my food diary, I eat it every day 😂). if you're ok with dairy, cottage cheese or Greek yogurt. peas are a complete protein. beans and rice make a complete protein as well!

Eggs, Costco protein bars, Oikos triple zero Greek yogurt (also Costco), and plain Turkey lunch meat work for me!

Potatoes are reasonable in price and have lots of great nutrients. A serving of potato has almost as much protein as an egg.
