In preparation for my first Challenge Group, I got the measuring cups and scale back out this morning. After last night's destruction burger I realized that all I needed to be more successful - is to think ahead. So I measured out ¾ cups of the whole box of my beloved sugary breakfast cereal into snack sized Ziploc baggies. This will help me on those busy days when I do not feel I have time to measure out the exact serving size. Now it is already done! The bonus: I know exactly how many meals of the cereal remain in the box and I have an easy to-go meal if I purchase a kid’s size milk when I am out and about.

Last night I enjoyed an opportunity of sharing some-time in the luxurious spa gym I am currently trying out with a person who is equally interested in being more fit. We had a great workout and then hung out in the steam room and finished in the sauna. Unfortunately, I did not consider eating before going nor did I think about what we would eat after leaving the gym after 10pm. The restaurant choices we were willing to drive to were few and once the hostess at the place we chose greeted us by saying, “We are closing in twenty minutes, do you still want to eat here?” We chose to go across the street to Sonic. I was starving by now. I failed myself because I did not look up the nutritional information. Sonic is no health food mecca but there were many choices I could have been satisfied with that would not have blown my RDI out of the water. I made a mistake; I learned a lesson; I will be smarter today.
