Proud of myself. Yesterday I ate better and it showed on the scale. Then canned 7 quarts of zesty bread and butter pickles for my hubby (I won't eat them). Tried also making bread and butter zucchini. I read somewhere that someone had done this. Since zucchini seems to take on the flavor of what you put it with I am told by my hubby, I thought it was worth a try. Made two pint jars of that since I had leftover brine for the pickles. We will see how that works out!

Sounds yummy! Is that like the Bread and Butter pickles? Yay you for seeing it on the scales! You should join the Sistas challenge I am in. It starts in 5 days! Great group of ladies too! I am slowly getting rid of my vacation weight gain. Eating better and sweating alot feels so much better!

Bread and butter pickles are my favorite!! I like them really zesty and a little on the hot side. I used to love a grilled sharp cheddar cheese and pickle sandwich, but not any more. I really envy your garden. Congrats on the weight loss, i weigh in tomorrow and if I have not lost I hope I have not gained. Hoping your son gets some good news I keep him in my prayers.

The mix I used for the pickles was zesty so it has some peppers in it. The zucchini I sliced up just like pickles and put in a jar with the bread and butter brine. Supposedly it is supposed to be like pickles...but with zucchini. Hubby said he would try them to see if it is worth doing more. Garden is getting fried now I guess because we have been over 90 degrees with 70+ degree dewpoints for almost a week. Hubby started watering it because it was all wilting. Will have to see if he is able to save it. No relief in sight I heard tonight. Rain went all around us again today. Not a drop of rain.
Son hasn't heard from where he really wants to work...but has yet another interview on Friday. At least he is getting interviews. Now if he could just get a job offer! :) Thanks for asking DG's Mom!
