Where were you when the world changed?
Today, remind yourself how luck you are to be here and give an extra hug to all those you love. I was very lucky - being landlocked in the middle of the nation like I was - to not have lost a single person in the attacks of September 11. I have also been lucky because everyone I know who fought in the war after has been returned home safely to me. I do not take lightly the sacrifice that others have made and I still feel the great grief that enveloped our nation seven years ago. It still whispers in my ear....

The Faith Hill concert was AWESOME!! Turns out it was a taping for her Christmas show and she was also making a Christmas album. So it was kind of interesting to be a part of that. It was a little strange - considering it IS September - but after a few songs, we kind of got into it. For those of you in the Chicago area, you'll be able to see me on TV when they air it...I'm the one that IS NOT in the Christmas attire - since my date had NO IDEA what was going on....But it was fun anyway - very interesting. I'd never been to a taping before so it was very different. Paul (my date) was really happy because apparently it takes a lot to impress me; so he says.
So we drive back into town from the event and we go to a friends bar to have a cocktail afterwards. The bar is closed, but a few people are sitting around inside playing guitars and singing old country songs. They let us in and we sat there until about 3am, singing Hank Jr, George Jones and some Alan Jackson. The guy that owns the bar, Jimmy, has a BEAUTIFUL voice. It was really fun. One of my best memories from living here has always been sittin in that bar, late into the night, listening to him pickin on that guitar. So it was nice to relive one of those moments.
So the scale is still being evil. I decided that I'm not weighing myself again until Sunday. So, there!!
Here's to a new day and no farts! ha!

Stuffed portabello mushroom (stuffed with a mixture of italian sausage, ground pork rinds, italian cheese blend, provolone and topped with parm - YUMMY!!!) - 4C

1 slice of almond bread with butter and brie - 5C
