Well, following a disastrous weekend foodwise, the scales weren't too unkind this morning, showing a gain of 600gr. To be honest I'd expect that much on a normal weekend, an up-fluc prior to a fast day.

I do feel sluggish and lethargic though.

Fast day today and I can't describe how much I'm looking forward to my super-healthy breakfast bowl :)

The weekend makes me wonder - how do people live like that? It's no wonder diet-realated disease is so prevalent. Here's the breakdown of what I was offered at the weekend - breakfast: cheese filled pastry or sesame bread ring; lunch: toasted sandwich filled with cheese, dill pickle & mayonnaise; tea-break: mini cakes and pastries; dinner: "pide" - Turkish style thin pizza topped with cheese. Of course there were "meat" alternatives to these but I don't like meat much and especially not the highly processed salami or sausage type products on offer. Everything made from white flour and all high in sugar, fat and salt. Vegetables stop at a slice of tomato in the toasted sandwich! I did have some apples with me, thank goodness, and I didn't accept any of the soda type drinks - I never drink them anyway.

Anyway, back on track today and hopefully I can replenish my energy despite it being a fast day.

There will always be times like these. We will have the control taken from us, or we will simply ignore it. You're back in the saddle, and you had a little eye opener as to what you feel most comfortable doing. 600 grams? Meh. You got it. :)

It's amazing what passes for food to some people, isn't it? I mean, my daily diet isn't perfect, but I do try to focus on small portions of the junkier stuff, and get my fruits and some veggies in there :-)

Mine's far from perfect, Baxie - I love my chocolate or ice cream on occasion and I like bread (but nearly always wholegrain of some description). But my fruit and veg intake, which still seems low to me, is way higher than a lot of other people manage. In my mind I try to have two fruit or veg portions at every meal.
