I am starting again, my health issues mean I need to do something now. I have Diabtetes, Atrial Fibrilation, painful joints, GERD . . . and what else is on the horizon, all age and weight related diseases. If I want to stick around a bit longer for my sons and husband, I need to do something NOW.

Jane I was diabetic and weighed 385 I started keto on Christmas 2017 I am now down to 267 and am completely off meds an my AC1 is 5.2 my Dr. says what ever I am doing keep it up! For me low carb was well worthwhile. Best of luck I know its not easy no matter what discipline you decide on!

Hang in there. I just started back after bronchitis attacked my breathing. Tho it was this that made it hard to get my breath, it reminded me that I have congestive heart failure and a pacemaker. One thing the bronchitis did was kill my appetite and I have taken advantage of that for about 4 weeks now. Down 14 lbs and a third of the way to my desired weight, which is still a bit high but much healthy. At almost 80, I know it will slow shortly, but I really think I can make it. And I know you can too.

Bad health numbers were a wake-up call for me. I've lost 20 lbs since August. The key for me was no alcohol (except on social occasions, about once every week or two) and walking between 2 and 4 miles three or four times a week (I had to work my way up to that). Smart of you to start with a modest goal. You can move the goal posts when you hit your first goal.
