Hey non-breakfast eaters: do you eat a big lunch or keep it smaller? I have a banana, 1/6 cantaloupe, and a salad everyday at 11:30! It works for me but I eat most of my calories after work/in the evening

I think IF works for me because I won’t eat breakfast unless my hubby makes it. I like my coffee and always add cashew almond milk and a little bit of avocado oil butter ( not as heavy as a bulletproof coffee) at least 3 times a week. I will add 1/4 serving of Swiss chocolate protein here and there to my coffee and in my mind I’m not breaking a fast. I typically eat around 1 or 2 p.m but if I order a salad it’s extra chicken and add a hard boiled egg. Blue cheese dressing. My snacks are a sharp cheddar slice and pork rinds which come in many different flavors 😉 I no longer crave sweets. My big lunch once a week is a double from Wendy’s ( it’s fresh) no bun and I ask for extra cheese, no ketchup. My other go to after IF is gluten free broiled chicken wings😋. I also keep in mind that sometimes regular meals happen and I stay in a calorie deficit.

But..... if my stomach is eating my back because I didn’t have enough water after my coffee, I will start lunch at 11-12. It’s not often but it’s because that’s me heavy or not. If you are starving then eat sensibly. It’s a lifestyle change and should not feel like a diet ❤️

@jcmama777 I don’t intentionally IF! But I do know it’s easier for me to stay in a deficit if I don’t eat much earlier in the day

You sound like me then lol. I just kinda always been like that but now it works well for me. But there are some tips that I use. When I first started here I didn’t know the abbreviations any of them lol. When I heard IF, I was like hmmm I do that naturally unless someone is making it🤦🏻‍♀️ Plenty of cereal in the cabinet for the kids. But since changing everything else I don’t crave the steak egg and cheese bagel from McDonald’s anymore.

if I miss breakfast I'm starved all day. overeat. So, I NEVER miss breakfast

Whatever works for us individually 😊 I never knew I was technically IF until I asked what it meant. I wish I was a breakfast eater. It’s good for you. Just has never been me. But I will eat it for lunch and dinner lol . Nothing like meat with a sunny side up egg or Belgian chicken and waffles for dinner if I’m in y caloric intake

I usually don't eat until between like noon and two, and then I eat something really small and healthy around 200 kcal. Then I eat dinner, a healthy but higher calorie drink (like fruit juice) and some kind of "healthy" dessert around 7 for an additional 1000 kcal or so (I like to average 600-800 kcal deficit most days so I steadily lose about 2 pounds per week) and go on a brisk walk with my husband and talk about our days. Good time to connect and wind down and relax, plus it gets dinner digesting so we don't just eat and go to bed right away.

I IF 16/8 by skipping breakfast. I too eat the majority of my calories in the evening.
