So today I think was my toughest test yet. I decided to go for a long bike ride. Me and a fit friend of mine left my house around 8:30 with the intention of doing about a three hour ride. Well we got down to Roxborough and decided screw it lets take it down to the city. My goal for the end of the summer was to ride from my house to the Philadelphia Museum of Art (56 Miles total). Well let me tell you I enjoyed the ride down and the first half back but we stopped to grab a pair of biking gloves in Manayunk and that was the beginning of the end. I went through about an hour of leg cramps and was afraid I was going to have to give up to the point where I sent my buddy ahead to get the car and pick me up wherever I made it (about 7 miles from home).

So knowing that this place isn't for quitters I took a 10 minute break and decided to try and see if I could power through it. I made it 2 miles and then 4 miles and by the time my buddy called I was only about a mile from my house so he came out met me for the last 10 minutes of the ride and I finished through. I feel a great sense of accomplishment for this even though I think it could have been easier without the stop in Manayunk. Either way I finished in 56 miles in four hours of pedaling. I guess I need to revamp my goal including doing this trip with a better time.

Only regret was that I forgot to wear my heart rate monitor so I don't have my calorie burn and considering I was around 14 mph on average for four hours I feel like i'm gipping myself by taking the 13 mph calorie burn on the site. Oh well I guess all I can do is underestimate.
