Hi all xxx well I don’t know if I’m doing this calorie counting right x. I started at a weight of 22stone 4lb then went up 4lb then down to 61/2 lb then back to 22st 41/2 lb then 22 st 131/2 now 22st 10lb all in a few days x do you think my scales are broken x I can’t do this x

Can you go to an alternative scales in a chemist or something to compare your scales?

I don’t go out cos I can’t walk more than a few steps without great pain an fatigue so can’t go to alternative scales x I was going once every month to the nurse at my doctors for weight management but I was wasting her time so stopped x

Hey Rosie, maybe the batteries in your scales need replacing? What makes you think you were wasting the nurses time? I’m sure they wouldn’t see it that way. 🙂

Hi angela_17 I’ve never thought of batteries in the scales I’ll have a look 👀 xx thank you all for the support it’s awesome I feel as if I’m on track today xx had fruit today and Diet Coke and cuppa tea xxx I can do this xxx rose 🌹

I calorie count as well Rosie and my dietician says that in order to lose 1 - 2lbs/week you need to stick to 1500kcals/day. Once you've checked the batteries in your scales perhaps weighing less often might suit you. I found that weighing myself every day didn't work for me, like you it showed too many fluctuations. Again my dietician recommended weighing once a fortnight but I found that once a week was better for me. This site is great for recording everything you eat and drink as it makes it so easy🙂 It's hard to lose weight but don't give up girl we are all wishing you luck on your journey 👍

Check your scales are on an even surface, mine sometime differ if I move them.

Rosie I can get a difference of a couple of pounds just by moving the scales slightly I started at 119 kg and I’m now at 86kg don’t be draconian with yourself little changes make a big difference if you give it time. It’s taken 32 weeks to get here and I still have a way to go too. My biggest tip is broccoli and/or cauliflower rice spinach and instant mash all from Lidl. Helps you feel full while keeping the calories down
