Anyone have any good snack ideas for a keto diet ? It’s easy for me to make my meals keto but it seems like every time I try the keto diet I fail because I don’t really know what to snack on between meals and end up picking something unhealthy or high in carbs .

I like cream cheese so I have some of that. Or egg with some mayo. Coffee with cream or butter can also work for me. But my best advice would be to add a lot of fat to your meals when you start this diet. Do not worry about the calories at this point. The aim is for your body to get into fat burning that takes a bit of time. Also drink plenty of water. Always before I have a snack or I start to feel a bit of hunger I drink lots of water and assess.

I buy the big jar of mixed premium UNSALTED nuts at Sams. Handful is enough to hold you over and satisfy and the non salted makes it so you aren’t craving another handful (imho). Sorento’s lite mozzarella string cheese sticks are my other go-to snacks. Both higher in fat but not carbs

pork rinds are a quick easy snack with crunch and if you can fit it in your calorie goal you can dip them in a cream cheese mix or just plain cream cheese, you can also have celery sticks with cream cheese. you can learn to make protein/high fat... fat bombs, I would not recommend getting too much into desert ones until you are well advanced on your adaption.

Dill pickles trace amount of carbs, kind of "free" food. I eat 6 baby dill pickles almost everyday. Another quick is a turkey and Swiss roll up, which is just half slice of Swiss rolled up in a slice of turkey. I stick with Boar's Head Ovengold turkey.

while in ketosis make sure you do not have too much lean protein! dont want the protein to convert to glycogen! if you take a cupcake pan, put a slice of ham lining the base, and bake with an egg inside, makes a decent high fat cupcake thingy lol

gluconeogenesis is an at need process and you can have much more protein than most people think. People fear protein way too much.

For the first three weeks Phinney and Volek “the art and science of carbohydrate living” state that people should have no less than 150g of protein while converting and creating the new metabolic pathways and preserve lean muscle mass... There are many ketogenic people that have much and more and it does not affect them - some of whom are diabetic and closely monitor their blood sugars etc So you can have snacks with protein in them! Meat and cheese roll ups I have used canned ham blended with mayo and spice into like kind of a dip and dipped some cucumber slices in that Sliced meat with pickles too After a while though I find that snacks are not really needed - it seems to evolve that way? Or did for me. If on the rare occasion I feel like I need one it is usually because I didn’t eat enough fat or protein at the last meal

Oops sorry if my last comment was misleading. There are several conflicting opinions regarding required protein for a positive nitric balance. You should not be afraid of protein! However for many people is seems like much less than the "1 gram per pound" is needed. Many people reference total weight rather than lean body mass. But again bodies are different so different people may absorb protein at different rates. Adaption over time may also be possible. Learn your body! I personally carry quite a bit of muscle mass, and generally do not consume adequate protein per bodybuilding standards. I personally prefer to have a little higher level of carbs in conjunction with my workouts. However some people may react well to ketosis. Not saying 200 grams of protein for a 200 lb person will not qork..just learn your body and realize many studies are not properly founded! :)

Did the "150" grams of protein study reference relative bodyweight?

The 150g for the first three weeks did not matter what your body weight was it was a minimum for everyone after the three weeks then they switched to 1-1.5g protein lean body mass

Not sure if you're still looking for KETO snacks, but Pinterest has lots of ideas.. Pepperoni (Hormel) 15 pieces carb free.. and if you take Sargento thin sliced cheddar cheese cut in 4 pieces sprinkle a little chilli flakes on it and bake on 250 for 35 minutes.. let cool for 5... Taste almost like cheese its... And the best part 3 slices of the thin sliced cheese is carb free so you get 12 chips....
